Choosing the Right Flow
Every baby feeds differently — use age as a starting point, but let your baby's cues guide the final choice.
🟢 Slow Flow (0–3 months)
Best for newborns still building suck-swallow-breathe coordination. A slower drip means baby controls the pace, reducing gulping and air intake.
Choose this if: baby is a newborn, feeds frequently in shorter sessions, or seems to gulp/choke on a faster flow.
🟡 Medium Flow (3–8 months)
For babies who've found a feeding rhythm and are sucking more efficiently.
Choose this if: baby seems to work hard or gets frustrated on slow flow, or takes a long time to finish a feed.
🔴 Fast Flow (8+ months)
Suited for older babies with stronger, more coordinated feeding, or for thicker liquids.
Choose this if: baby is 8 months+, feeds confidently, or is transitioning toward a cup.
How to know it's time to size up:
Feeds are taking noticeably longer than usual
Baby seems to suck hard but little milk is coming through
Baby falls asleep or gets fussy before finishing
How to know it's too fast:
Milk leaks from the corners of baby's mouth
Baby gulps, coughs, or pulls away frequently
Baby seems overwhelmed rather than settled while feeding
Every baby is different — if you're ever unsure, your pediatrician can help confirm the right fit.
